Why living on a corner lot is a bad idea

So I still managed to get 3000 words written today despite this:

It turned out that our neighbor decided to back into the fence. Judging by the damage I actually think the driver was settling some cosmic score between them and the fence. Three full sections of fence destroyed and two posts snapped. I had heard the noise when impact happened but just assumed it was the train. It was only when I left to pick my kid up from school that I noticed the giant hole in our fence.

At least nobody was hurt and I had just moved most of the kids toys to the other end of the yard a couple days ago.

I hope you know which Neighbor did it!  I’m glad you were focused and got some work done.

The neighbor eventually came forward, so we’ve got everything straightened out (I think). I did most of the clean up tonight, will finish tomorrow.

    Hi Brent

Sorry about you fence, for such a brief article your being extremely generous giving away 500 eaves.

    Warmly Robert.

Could be worse …  he could have kept going and back into the house as well!

Amazing – that your neighbor admitted the accident & that you are giving us eaves for just taking a look. Thanks so much.

  • Ridexc

That’s quite a demolition talent your neighbour has.

I’m relieved to hear no one was hurt. Well, maybe their pride… not physically at least.

How inconsiderate! And he/she didn’t even contact you about the damages? What a jerk.

    Happy Holidays, my friend!!

Yeah that would have been bad. I’m surprised they got as far as they did… the fence actually hit the garage… all while they were driving in reverse…

  • http://blog.brentknowles.com Brent Knowles

Yeah, they could probably start a new career!

  • http://blog.brentknowles.com Brent Knowles

    Thank you!

I’m not sure they grow here? And I’m not much of a green thumb. Plants generally wither around me.

  • http://blog.brentknowles.com Brent Knowles

Yeah, they mentioned they weren’t going to ever drive again :)

  • http://blog.brentknowles.com Brent Knowles

They did eventually find us… after they saw me taking photos of the damage. They’ll pay for the damages.

  • http://blog.brentknowles.com Brent Knowles

Yep, they’ll have to. I called the police and whatnot and the driver admitted their ‘guilt’ to the officer. We have some contractors coming out today to give us quotes and whatnot.
