    Gamifying Charity

    Over on Empire Avenue veteran player William Pitcher has triggered a lot of interest in Kiva, which is, in their own words: …a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty… William is encouraging players to join his team on kiva. Anybody who lends money to a cause on Kiva will then receive a large number of ‘share purchases’ by others users who are donating their virtual wealth, in addition to real money, in an effort to promote this cause.     My Years at BioWare

    Somebody came by today asking to read the little write ups I did for each year I had worked at BioWare. I had assumed I had created a functional table of contents somewhere but could not find it (talk about Lazy…) Anyways I’ve modified the first journal entry, the one describing my first year with BioWare working on Baldur’s Gate 2 and I’ve included links to the other journal entries.     Why I Hate the Xbox 360

    A couple years ago I discussed my preferences for the Playstation3 and the Wii over the Xbox 360. Recently I’ve had new reason to renew my hate for that horrid device. As a quick background: I am a Microsoft guy… have always used their computers. In the last generation of consoles I owned only an xbox… never touched a playstation. In this current generation of consoles I had intended only to buy the Xbox360. (The Wii eventually tempted me and I broke down and bought it as well.)
